How to apply for Romanian citizenship and get a passport
If you are reading this letter, it means that you are already interested in starting the process of obtaining Romanian citizenship. Below is a detailed description of the steps and the list of necessary documents.
List of documents
1. Internal passport (if it is an ID card, you will also need a registration certificate).
2. International passport.
3. Your birth certificate.
4. Certificate of no criminal record.
5. Marriage certificate (if applicable).
6. Mother's birth certificate.

8. Parents' marriage certificate.

Queue for document submission in Bucharest
When the collection of documents begins, contact us to sign up for the queue. The queue is usually scheduled 2 months before the submission date. After signing up for submission, you will receive confirmation from the official website of the Ministry of Justice.
Submission of documents in Bucharest: stages and payment
1. All collected documents (except passports) are sent to Bucharest to our clerk (contacts will be provided).
2. Documents are translated into Romanian and certified by a notary.
3. On the day of submission:
• You arrive in Bucharest, meet with the clerk, who will prepare your package of documents.
• Prepared documents are submitted together with a lawyer to the Office of Migration and Citizenship.
Payment for services:
• Preparation of documents - 500 euros.
• Clerk services - 200 euros.
• Lawyer services - 100 euros.
• The remaining amount for services (3000 euros) is transferred after submission.
After submission, you are given a case number (DOSAR), by which you can track its status on the website of the Ministry of Justice of Romania.
Waiting for the order and the oath
The case review process takes 1.5-2 years. After your case is approved, you will receive an invitation to take the oath.
You must know basic phrases in Romanian before taking the oath. If you have any difficulties, you can take 10-20 online lessons with a teacher.
After the oath, you will receive a citizenship certificate, on the basis of which Romanian documents are issued:
